I was a 1969 skinhead . But to me some things don't add up in your pics. for example the baggy trousers we never wore those we wore Levis or Sta Pressed perhaps it was a northern thing. As usual lots of images of Mod scooters. We never rode those ,they died off in the 70s we just walked everywhere. I suspect some of these pics were from a different time.

Grew up as a biker and had mates who were skinheads we argued loads but the one thing we agreed on was music, oh and our close knit brothers be the skinhead or long haired. There were good and bad amongst both groups as there is throughout the world and its only the few bad ones who get the press coverage. I still see my skinhead mate even 50 years on and we still argue but will always love the music.....The beautiful women from both sides are also a joy to behold too.

Unfortunately for the ass kissers out there, that’s just not true. Right from the beginning, which is to say 1968 and 1969, a majority of skinheads were very racially motivated or at least preoccupied and began joining groups like the national front and British movement which didn’t start in the late 70s as many believe but in the late 60s. Additionally, skinheads during the original wave were famous for attacks on Pakistani immigrants and for supporting a politician by the name of Enoch Powell. This was precisely because Powell was vociferously opposed to nonwhite immigration to England. So this entire idea of skinheads being inherently or foundationally colorblind and politically correct and shining on their brother like some hippie dippy egalitarian is pure nonsense. Just because they listened to music from Jamaica does not mean that they wanted to have their island nation become a third world country by dint of massive influx.
